At Volga Tours, we ensure that the payment process for your trip to Peru is as secure and hassle-free as the trip itself. We offer a variety of payment options designed to provide you with flexibility and transparency.
1. Reservation Payment Process
All reservations with Volga Tours are handled in two stages, unless otherwise indicated due to the proximity of the travel date:
1.1 Initial Deposit (Non-Refundable)
An initial deposit (the amount of which varies depending on the package) is required to confirm and guarantee the purchase of essential and non-refundable services (e.g., train tickets and permits to enter protected areas).
1.2 Payment of Outstanding Balance
The remaining balance must be paid within the period specified on your confirmation voucher. Generally, this payment must be completed at least 30 days before the start date of your tour.
Failure to meet the final payment deadline may result in automatic cancellation of the reservation and forfeiture of the initial deposit, as set out in our Terms and Conditions.
2. Currency and Exchange Rate
2.1 Base Currency for Quotation
All prices for our tour packages are quoted and confirmed in US dollars (USD).
2.2 Payment in Local Currency (Peruvian Soles – PEN)
If you wish to make payments in Peruvian Soles (PEN), the exchange rate applied will be the Selling Exchange Rate in effect on the business day of the transaction, as determined by Volga Tours.
3. Accepted Payment Methods
We offer the following secure payment options:
3.1 Payment by Credit/Debit Cards (Recommended)
We accept all major credit cards worldwide: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
- Security: Processing is carried out through a PCI DSS-certified encrypted payment gateway, ensuring that your financial information is never stored on our servers.
- Commission: This method usually involves a service charge/bank commission (approximately 3% to 5% of the total amount) imposed by the gateway and the banks. This charge is borne by the Customer and will be added to the total amount payable.
3.2 International Bank Transfer (SWIFT/Wire Transfer)
Ideal for paying off outstanding balances or large amounts.
- Security: The transfer is made directly to Volga Tours‘ corporate account at a Peruvian bank.
- Commission: Bank transfer costs, including fees charged by intermediary banks and the receiving bank, must be borne by the Customer (OUR option). Please ensure that the net amount received by Volga Tours is the exact total amount due.
3.3 Payment via PayPal
An international payment platform that offers additional protection to the buyer.
- Commission: Transactions through PayPal incur a higher commission (generally between 4% and 6% of the amount). This commission is borne by the Customer and will be added to the total amount payable.
4. Transparency and Fees
At Volga Tours, we maintain complete transparency regarding transaction costs:
- Commission Separation: Service charges and bank fees are not company revenue, but rather costs imposed by third parties (banks and payment gateways) to process your international transaction.
- Clear Notification: Your travel advisor will inform you in detail about the exact amount of the commission applicable to the selected payment method before issuing the link or payment instructions.
5. Documentation and Verification
After receiving confirmation of your payment, Volga Tours will issue an electronic voucher and/or invoice or sales receipt that will validate your reservation and detail the service contracted. We ask that you keep this receipt as proof of your transaction.
In the event of discrepancies in the amount received by bank transfer, we will contact you immediately to request payment of the difference before final confirmation of your reservation.
